£20 from ING Savings

Just wondering if anyone who was able to apply for the ING Savings account that Martin advertised on his email a few weeks ago has received their £20 yet?

I applied for the account on the day the email came round (around the start of March) and sent the £1 cheque off to open the account on the same day. That credited within a few days, but still no sign of the £20 being credited to the account several weeks later.

Anyone else had any luck with this? Trying to remember the offer was there a certain time the account had to be open in order to get the £20 credited?

Thanks.

    I haven't had mine either.

I opened the account on the day of the offer and my £1 was credited on the 5th March.

I was thinking of phoning them, but it says that the £1 had to be credited by 31st March, so maybe the £20 will go in then?
  • I did get a confirmation letter about a week later but no sign of the £20 as yet.
They're probably waiting for you to deposit more money into the account - before they give you the 20 quid.

The offer gave no mention that you ever have to have more than £1 in order to get the £20. I seem to remember they closed it pretty quickly after Martin's email came round - basically I took out the account, I emailed my wife to suggest that she did the same, but by the time she got round to doing it later that morning the offer had already closed.

I guess they realised if all 3,000,000 people that get Martin's emails opened an account they'd need to shell out £60mil :)

Anyway AFAIK their offer on their web site was in writing, and therefore was the condition under which we were applying, so I can see no legal way for them to get out of giving the £20. Might have a nosy around their site and see if they have any actual T&Cs available regarding the offer.

It did say that the £20 would be given within 28 days of the Welcome pack being issued.

I opened my account on the 4th March 09, and my Welcome letter was dated 10th March 09. So I should have my £20 by the 7th April 2009.

    I will keep you informed!

    Hi All

I thought I had sent off the correct documentation but they have sent it back wanting a certified copy of my passport or a credit card statement (original)

I cant work it out my better halfs has been opened all ok !, shall I juts send the copy of the passport off again and the original of the credit card statement ? I am on the electoral roll as is the missus, have credit already etc , why are they trying to verify me i feel like i dont exist !

Is it possible they are throwing a random number of obstacles in the way to avoid paying out too many £20 ??!

    Kind Regards,
