Hello all
Asking for help again, I rely on this forum fo all my techie help ,you are so good.
I am buying a Humax PVR Freesat recorder, as most of you peeps recommend this brand.
I understand that I will need a dish, I have an old sky dish still in place will I be able to use that or do I need to have a new one fitted? It is not connected to any TV set in my home.
Thank s to all who reply.

yes and will be correct alignment ,but the part at end of short pole [forget name] needs to be type with 2 aerial fittings [ view + record ] not expensive....have read more info details somewhere on this forum0

Yes you can you may need a twin LNB and twin cable to get the most out of it though around £30 or less on ebay and then fitting. It costs me £22 for cable and quad lnb and around £40 for a local fitter0

Try and have a look and see how many outputs are available on the current LNB before ordering a new one.
As 'savemoney' says, new LNB's are relatively inexpensive if a new one is required.Dave. :wave:0 -

I don't believe that's true. You need a twin LNB if you want the flexibility to record one programme when watching any other, but the unit will recieve, play and record quite happily from a single LNB as I understand things. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Yes it will work with 1 lnb, I dont thing or you couldn't until recently update the firmware without 2 lnb's but certainly it being a twin tuner you really could do with a twin lnb0

A twin LNB will be about £10 so it's pointless not to go for one. Maybe even get a quad LNB to allow for future expansion? It'll be barely more expensive. Shotgun cable will be 75p a metre or so, and a couple of quid for shotgun cable clips. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
