Oh dear, someone else maybe who thinks you can get 'clever' with a buyer.
It is unusual to find useful software that can be sold legally on a CDR and of course anything that might be considered a pirate copy would not be allowed to be sold anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Is there not a possibility the buyer is right?
All info seems to point that way. If he had a copy of the software why would be bother buying it, copying it (after changing his system date!), returning the whole lot. What would that achieve?0 -
I think the point is that he didn't have a copy, he may have bought a legit version, made a copy, and sent back the copy instead of the original disc, so is now in posession of an original install CD and a note of the product key.
Why he'd go to the bother of this rather than just downloading the software in the first place is another question. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

that relies on the fact that the buyer could in some way have known the box would come unsealed.
Seems very unlikely to me.

My take on it would be that the buyer's realised that the box was unsealed, and thought "oho, I'll try it on!".
Or that the box wasn't unsealed, but the buyer's bluffing. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
