I'm hoping someone may be able to help.
In the tax year 2008/2009, I earnt £5461.63 and paid £729.60 tax.
The basic rate allowance is £6035, which means tax code should be 605L.
My tax code was 543L for the majority and BR X for 2 weeks.
Am I right in thinking I will get the full £729.60 because I earnt less than £6035 and was on the wrong tax code?
I have tried ringing my "local tax office" and they said they are unable to say how much I would get for security reasons.
Any help/advice is much appreciated.
Thanks
Holli

Looks like you are correct. If you received any benefits this could affect it though.

I don't recieve any benefits and never have, also didn't recieve any taxable income. I left work to become a full time student.
I don't want to get my hopes up by thinking I'll get that much and then get something significantly smaller! xx0
