I went right off it when I realised how many transfats were in it and my beloved Maltersers.0
-
I dip my finger in it too:o
I'm sure when we were kids we used to get horlicks sweets, which was just horlicks in a tablet type sweet a bit like fishermans friends but much nicer.
But then it may just have been my mom finding a way to use up dried up horlicks:rotfl:will have to ask her next time I speak to her
Thanks for the cake recipe that sounds yummy:D
Unfortunately I can't take it back to Asda as my nearest one is 20 miles away so it seems silly to drive all the way there just for that, but at least I know not to bother with it next time I shop on lineJune Grocery Challenge 270.80/250July Grocery Challenge 0/3000 -
Rasra - Don't worry, Horlicks sweets did exist as I used to buy them many moons ago. I'm not sure if they do now though so your mum wasn't pulling a fast one.

Too many years ago at an office party.......yes, one of those .......... a male colleague ('what' else?!) asked me if I had ever considered what an unfortunate name it was for a product, & wasn't it strange that it was only the spelling that diverted buyer's attention away from how disgusting it sounded otherwise.
I never forgot & haven't touched the stuff since; but still remember drinking it as a child.....& wish I could forget:D0 -

I guess this is the sainsburys version of horlicks, well I bought it earlier in the year but have hardly used it, best before october 09. So I thought I'd better make use of it, and was heating some milk in the microwave, when I noticed its gone completely solid! Is this normal?? The top was screwed on properly.0
-
Yes, that's normal, they do seem to harden after a month of being opened - will be the moisture that was let in I guess.
Chisel a bit off and it should dissolve ok with a bit of persuasion!0 -
Its kind of lost its appeal now lol I used the milk for some chocolate nesquick instead!!0
-
Don't waste it though will you??!!
