Got a couple of Mr T's suits for other half - he works away a lot, and spare suits always come home crumpled, so thought that it wouldn't matter so much if the spare only cost £30.00. Well, it turned out to be a bit of a revelation, the one's that I got weren't any different to one he bought in M&S for £200.00 ish about 6 months ago
DH is really fussy about his suits, and though he wouldn't wear the cheap ones all the time, they are a great bargain, especially if you only wear suits occasionally, or if you just need "spares" like dh (he manages to ignore the fact that he has at least a dozen suits hanging in the wardrobe!).
Asda are pretty good for shirts - assume you'll want a fairly smart one to go with your suit - and the boxed range that they do look far more expensive than they really are, and some of them are nearly always reduced!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
I know what you mean about the waste of money thing - for me it was the other way round ... buy a cheap suit - not like it due to comfort/fit/look .. and then not wear it again.
I did this with a cheap suit I bought out of Matalan [about £60-£70 ish] for my sisters wedding - didn't like it after it was on for a while and never worn it again, so it's been at the back of the wardrobe ever since ...waste of money. [I don't wear a suit to work]
Also while hiring a suit at Moss Bros I got a shirt and tie set - perfect fit - cheaper than Matalan/Asda and ..... M&S! ..... bonus!

my other half has bought some of their trousers, which look okay, but the jackets look cheap in my opinion.
how about trying an outlet shop, or TK maxx? Not buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!0 -
Well I've just come back from Moss Bros and I can't say I thought the suit was all that. I didn't feel very nice and the trousers were pleated (as opposed to flat fronted), which is a bit dated looking.
I'm now considering a different option  . I do actually own have two suits, but one doesn't fit at all (I'm too fat) and the other (which is only just over a year old) is quite nice navy blue suit, which would be ideal except it has a rather large hole in the crotch of the trousers!
anyway, it just occured to me that Next (where I had it from) might still sell the suit and therefore I could just get a new pair of trousers. As it turns out they still do! Unfortunately the trousers alone are £45, but at least at the end of it, I'd have a full suit again (jacket was hardly worn anyway). Anyone know if NEXT do any discount vouchers or codes? I've found a free deliverly code, but a 10% or move off would be much better.

I rarely wear a suit so the Asda ones are ideal for me. Certainly not thick enough for everyday wear but great for the occasional day. Good range of mix/match sizes too!Can I help?0

I'm looking for a suit also but my budget is up to £110 - £120. I bought a black suit from Primark for £30 but it looks so cheap that probably I'll never use. I have to agree that wool is really better than any other fabric.
My budget is low obviously as most suits are priced for more than £150 or £200 but I have to work it out somehow. Any suggestions except those mentioned before?
And what about the M&S non iron shirts? I have one (for £15) and it needs a little bit of ironing. Anyone tried the £25 "non iron-that's a promise" shirts?

I went to the ASDA at the Trafford Centre and I had a look at the suits and they are alright. It depends how long you want it to last.
If you have the time to wait why not try Debenhams when they have the blue cross sales. I bought my husband a gorgeous suit in the sale and it costs £75 and it was supposed to be £165, and if you have a gold store card with them they do any alterations for free. :T0 -
for the £100 budget tj huges do a whole range, some really nice ones. OH's 'best' suit is from there. his others are primark and lx direct.
now i just need to fine me a suit for an interview. primark ladies suits are never in stock except odd sizes and mis matched jackets!0 -
