  • you really need to talk with your supplier. Guessing is not going to help you. So you need to take all the suggestions made here - and ask your supplier a few pertinent decisions. It does not really help to have your own place but no fridge etc. Chat with your supplier.

thought I already replied oh well, turns out im not paying for someone else but all the lights for the house are wired into my meter! the hallway lights and the 3 flats above's lights are paid for by me thats why some days the usage is massive some low.

I have been without electric for a week as Npower still havent given me a key as promised and now say I dont have an account! and I have to collect one from a local newsagents but it will take a hour to sort out and they told me this at 4.35 so hoping its still open when I go otherwise I will be annoyed.

I did find the old key but they say its been deactivated and cant be reactivated!

I will ask, the rate set at says 60p a week standing charge and I think 14.68 per unit is this hugh? Im sure I as paying about 12p a unit only a year and a half ago though standing charge was about 90p but the weeks usage was about £5-£8

Some "good" news, got my new key ok, plus when I was checking meter cupboard found another switch, which I pressed and now the hall lights work on timers correctly instead of being on all the time!

Should save me some cash, just hoping that my leccy isnt paying for upstairs lights as they are now ran out and away but their lights suddenly came on(which is strange when they have zero electricity in meter!)
