 we cancelled our account with BT on thew 22nd decmber and went to sky. everything seemed to be going weel and contacted both parties on set dates to make sure the accounts were switched properly.
then a month ago recieved a massive bill from BT saying they were charging us up untill end of may for our account including phone and broadband. We rang to ask how they could be charging us when we were no longer with them as we were now with sky and they said the account hadnt been cancelled there was only a note on the system that it should be cancelled, so we asked nicley for thewm to cancel the account there and then and refund any monies owing to us (previously had been told we were owed money).
Then tonight i get an email saying i can view my account online, when i log in i find that i've been charged a disconection fee, despite being with BT for 4 years. so we rang them up only to be told we had set up an account on the 3rd of january!!!! i wasnt even home then i was at my parents house for christmas.
This wouldnt be so bad if they hadnt done the exact same thing to my father when he cancelled his account 12months before, then 12 months after finally cancelling the contract they reconnected his account without telling him, really hope they dont do that to us in 12 months !!! i have no intention of ever going back to BT.
the service is diabolical and to send ever increasing bills for a service i dont recieve!!!!! they dont have to think they are recieving any money from me, it took my dad six months to get this problem sorted, i wont wait that long, they either sort my bill or i will speak to OFCOM and a solicitor, i have enoguh with my porrly son without the stress of this:mad:

Were you out of contract when you cancelled? If not they will charge you the balance owing until the end of the contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop

For clarification... NOBODY is ever 'out of contract'.
The initial term, perhaps - but NOT the contract.0
