Inkscape problem when adding text

Any Inkscape users out there? Couldn't find any online forums specifically for Inkscape support and the other graphics support sites seem to focus on commercial products.

I've been trying it out as a free alternative to Illustrator but hit on a problem. I imported a bitmap and traced around it. Fine, did a great job except that some of the text serifs weren't quite right so I replaced these with text in Inkscape. Fine. Then I saved as and EPS file. Here is where I hit the problem. In the EPS file there is a box around the text I added.

Any ideas on where I've gone wrong? Or anyone know of a support forum for Inkscape or with Inkscape users?

Thanks
