Is it possible to get free TV from NTL. I only subscribe to their broadband via cable and I suspect that this "NTL/T WEST/CABLE MODEM/D BOX /TV F SPLITTER KIT" ebay item 5871938231 will let me tap into the free channels available. At the moment I only have a cable modem box plugged into the cable.
I am not trying to pirate channels but if they are there for free I would like to get them for the kids in their room.
Many thanks.

Connecting anything to your ntl socket, other than equipment supplied by ntl is against your terms and conditions with ntl. As alexjohnson has said, ntl are not to hot on this, but they could certainly come round and remove your service.
What Marks suggested is far more likely to get you a visit from ntl and/or the police as this is theft of service and taken very seriously by ntl.
Unless you are on the cheapest internet from ntl, you're probably better going for their 3 for £30 deal and getting tv/phone/internet bundled in. Either that or by a freeview decoder for the kids telly, then no worries about illegalities or damaging your service!- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0
