Ebay Shop, is it worth it?

Hi,
I'm thinking of opening an Ebay Shop, is it worth it?
Also i have a few questions if possible:
1. Whats the difference between the basic shop and featured?
2. Do you get more buyers?
3. Can you have auction and buy it now?
I have sold alot on Ebay but I don't know very much about the shops so any info would be gratefully received.
Thanks. Carrie

Hi I have a shop on Ebay. All the items have to be Buy It Now and it only costs 5p to list, 10p if you use the gallery for your picture. I get quite a few customers buying from the shop. It is also handy if you have put on an item via auction and it has not sold then you can transfer it to your shop for a cheaper listing.
I would recommend it.0 -
I just looked at the fees and it says 3p to list and 5p for gallery, have the fees changed

Yep the listing fees have gone down but the final value fees have gone up. I think the basic shop charge of £6 per month is still the same though.

I was asking the same thing for months until 1 month ago when I opened my shop. Now its 30 days on and I have sold quite a lot of items from it, much more than I expected. It has also saved me money because some people choose not to take my listing from outside the shop and thus buy from within saving me a small fortune in re-listing fees. Has it paid for itself I ask myself......you bet ya!

Remember to promote your shop on all of your listing that you have so people will look in. This I believe can cause impuse buying!0 -
hey all, do you have to be a trader (like an official business) to setup an Ebay shop, or just a seller who has many more items abailable in an ebay store... One of the guys on my nightshift is looking to run an ebay shop as they have so many hours spare during the day to parcel things up and send out... They wont let me in on what they're selling though, so it looks like they'll be retiring before I am

Hmmmm, what to sell on ebay?!?!£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -

I didn't get asked anything about being a trader as far as i could see you just have to be a seller As far as Ebay see it, you could open a shop and not put anything in it but they will still be making £6 per month for the pleasure.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0 -

You don't need to be a trader no, anyone can start one.0 -
What happens if you open a shop but decide not to sell anything for a few months in the year. Will the monthly fees be put on hold? or would you need to close your shop and start a new one?0
