I found a local man who sells and delivers gardening stuff. I want to grow potatoes, onions, carrots, and lettuce, most in containers and some potaotes in the garden itself. Here is his list, is there anything I should get on it ?---
peat
growbags
perlite
vitax Q4
fish blood meal
potato fertilizer
growmore
super phosphate
garden lime
armilatox
weed killer

Just bumping this up... is there anything on here that would be useful for a garden with poor soil and/or starting off seeds indoors ?

Seems to me he is over egging it, understandably as it is his profit margin

But if growing in containers, and using growbags, then IMO no need for

    fish blood meal
    potato fertilizer
    growmore
    super phosphate
    garden lime
    armilatox
    weed killer

Arguably no need for growbags, you could use large bags of multi purpose compost, depends on cost really, no big advantage either way on growing

One multi purpose fertiliser, such as "Wonder gro" from Wilkinson's or similar would do

Seeds indoors, any old multi compost, Asda, Wilkinsons, etc OK for starting off

Poor soil, the best improver has to be horse poo, well rotted if you can find it, or spent mushroom compost, if using this you could dig in chicken poo pellets as a boost to nutrients

Spent mushroom compost has the added bonus of having lime [chalk] already in it
