A and L £100 bonus account - when to pay?

I just opened the A lliance and leicester Premier Account but I wanted to ask soemthig that had always baffled me. If I don't pay in min £500/month then they will fine me £5/month. I have al;ways thought that as long as I pay in my salary (over £500) then it would be okay, but how could I otherwise pay in that amount if let's say, for eg, my work messed my pay up? Does that mean I have to pay in the full £500 and is there a certain day I have to do it and what if I could only pay in two lots of £250 - would that be adequate?

It's 500 credit during the statement month - which for me (with a Jan 09 start account) is the same as a calender month
2 x 250 will be fine
I've also been told that if your pay is a few days late one month then the £5 will not be charged, as they'll see the two lots of 500+ going in on the following month. I'd guess your best bet would be to have that confirmed to you directly, and make a note of the persons name and time of the call!0
