Tricity fan oven broken

Hi all,
We've got a Tricity fan oven, model 2166, and the main oven is broken. The fan makes some very strange noises and isn't turning properly (it alternates between fast and slow) and the oven doesn't heat up properly. I can't work out if I just need a new fan motor, a new heating element or both. I know tricity is ancient (this model was left with the house and must be 1970's, early 80's latest) but has anyone had a smiliar problem?
We can't afford to get a new oven and I don't really want to pay for someone to come and fix it either!
Thanks in advance
