Advice from Landlords about working from home pls

Hi,

Firstly, I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right board - but this is where the landlords are! Apologies if it's in the wrong place.

We live in rented accommodation, and I am "thinking" about leaving my job and becoming a registered child minder. As a landlord, how would you feel about your tenant child minding, and do you know if I'd need to obtain permission?

Thanks

Check your tenancy agreement. I should think it's almost certain that the agreement specifically prohibits you from using the property as business premises.

You may be able to discuss/negotiate this with your landlord: it depends in part on whether his lender will allow him to allow you to have a business on the premises; there would also be additional buildings insurance complications and costs (which would no doubt be passed on to you).

Not out of the question, but I wouldn't count on being able to do this.

    Good luck with the wedding!
