I've had a plumber quote me £5.5k for a new central heating and hot water system. The spec is:
1) Good quality Valiant/Worcester boiler + flu (no mains upgrade needed)
2) Unvented (megaflo or similar) tank
3) All new pipe work in plastic
4) 9 new standard rads
5) Control panel
I'm in south west London. How does this sound to other money savers
thanks

Here you go....
Good morning: What is the make and model of boiler? Top spec £1200. Mains cold supply tested for sufficient flow rate and pressure? Yes. Is the unvented cylinder a or a product from another manufacturer? £600 tank Pipework in copper or plastic? Plastic Powerflush No, controls yes, Boiler Buddy/Magnaclean no, notification of installation included? Yes Checked registration of the RGI with CORGI ( from 1 April 2009)? Yes If you can answer these questions about the specification we could comment.;)0 -
Hi...get another written quote with a full specification (specific details for boiler, UV cylinder etc) for your own protection otherwise the RGI could play switcheroo with the components and standard of the installation etc...it happens all too frequently as many threads on MSE bear witness.
