As an existing customer I had an email from them today about these accounts complete with application forms, R85 forms, the whole works.
I get the impression the uptake has been disappointing: the rates lousy for such long time periods and people may have realised all is not necessarily well with Close themselves. I was not happy to discover that they had taken advantage of one of the government's "bail out" schemes. One of their divisions has recorded big losses. Perhaps the new CEO will sort it !!0 -
don't fix for more then 2 years, ideally 12 months. As inflation creeps up which it will with all this printing of money, rates will rise. Oil is already slowly rising.0

Hi folks,
Just spotted this thread and thought I would post to let you know that Close brothers hasn't been bailed out. It included in the list of banks eligible to utilise the Government Credit Guarantee scheme, as an additional potential source of funding, but says 'it has no immediate intention of utilising this option'
Hope this is helpful

As Close Brothers have increased their fixed bond rates, anyone think this may be the start of others improving their offers?0
