Can i get my mrs a debit card?

hi guys basically im thinking of opening a bank account to stash some money in to save up for something with my girlfriend say a holiday or something , now does she have to be with me when i open it to get a card in her name too ? you know so we can both deposit money and use it if need be?

Basically, yes. The bank will need her signature, -otherwise you could open a bank account for anybody. If you open it by visiting the bank then she will need to go with you. If you open it by phone she will need to be there when you ring them. I don't know how it works opening a joint account over the internet though.

You could open the account and then get her added at a later date - If you ask the bank for relevant forms you may be able to take away and complete your part to add her and she could then take it in to the bank.
