Spam calls from "consumer research centre"

We keep getting calls from "consumer research centre" asking for somebody who does not live in the property.. The number is coming up as '*****' on the phone, so most likely withheld. We have been registered with TPS for a few years now, and other than this company they all seem stay clear.
Does anybody know anything about this company? How do we get them to stop? We have asked them to remove our number from their database, but they keep calling.

From memory you fill out a consumer survey form and get some cheap shopping vouchers. You also give them your phone number and you take part in a number of 'surveys' - it is probably this. It may be an old arrangement or a typo that put your number on the system. The best thing to do is hold on when they call and ask to speak with or get the contact details of the CS manager. You then ask for your details to be removed.0

i read in a magazine just last week, about how to deal with such like calls, including the ones that are silent when you pick it up. so what you do is press the hash key as fast as you can on your phone. apparently it will confuse the computer that is dialing you, and will delete your number from its memory!!
magic if it works. certainly going to try.xxxx0 -
Tell them to f**k off. And if you don't want to say that and want a semblance of politeness say "Where the f**k did you get this number from?"
These scumbgs need telling in no uncertain terms.0 -

Urban myth - and when you think about it, nonsensical. Admin access to an outdial system takes more than hitting '#' and hoping that this manufacturer's product is so stuoid that it can be remodely deprogrammed by using that single button. Of course, the other 50% of folk will be told pressing this button will make you liable to a 50p charge for recieving the call.
[No it won't - but hey, what's accuracy got to do with it?]
