using cloth nappies-help!

I've been using cloth nappies for a few months now and i am finding that they still smell a little bit after washing. You know, that "ammonia" smell. Only faintly but i can small it. How can i get rid of this?
BTW I put them in a bucket with water with couple of drops of tea tree oil once they come of DD's backside. Leave them in the bucket for about 2 days until i have enough to do a load in the washer. Wash at 60C using BOld 2in1. Generally hang them on the line to dry but during winter i have had to tumble dry them and/or pop them on the radiator.
Should i just add a couple of drops of lavender oil to the bucket solution?
