Buying a category C damaged repairable car

I've had a couple of cat Ds in the past - buy with care and the saving can be massive. As others have said first step is to confirm if the guy selling actually owns the car rather than the insurance company.0

but the fee for the VIC check includes the new log book (£25ish replacement cost anyway)
cat c cars can be great bargins if you know what you are doing, but keep all repair bills and receipts to prove the work was done as if it were to be involved in another accident then you will need to prove that the previous damage was repaired.
i wont hesitate in buying a cat c car in the near future theres some good bargains to be hadSealed pot challenger # 10

The fee for a VIC doesn't include the cost of a log book, that money goes to VOSA who do the check. If it's a Cat C you just don't need to give DVLA any money for the V5, it comes free once you apply for it after the VIC.but the fee for the VIC check includes the new log book (£25ish replacement cost anyway)0
