reclaiming bank charges halifax

asked for refund of charges,hardship case.there response was it takes time to investigate claim,if they are unable to respond fully in the next 4 wks they`ll write and keep me updated. is this normal procedure.

I am just clarifying the post but was the Income & Expenditure done this year?I applied for a refund with Halifax orginally 2 years ago and again under the financial hardship rules.I had to do a financial statement (which I did), more than proving my case as I am on a debt management plan. The result nothing....a letter about the ombudsman blah blah blah.I also made several phone calls and found the staff to be very rude and patronising.Not really sure what to do next.Halifax didn't want to know.

Hi yes the income and expenditure was done in February of this year Halifax sent me a sheet out. Can you be specific about your defination of priority debts (sorry not being stupid)? Also I joined my debt management plan this year (Payplan)
Rent/mortgage arrears, council tax arrears, utilities arrears etc.etc
Any creditors taking you to court?0 -
That bit is rubbish but I think the payplan has worked against you, Grrrrr! Am seeing this more and more now.Hi
Yes all my priority debts were included rent etc and yes I have CCJ's unfortunately. Didn't seem to make any difference though. I have my salary paid into another bank account now on the advice of payplan as one of my debts was Halifax credit card and they took all my salary out on one occasion to pay my credit card as I was behind with my payments, they simply wern't giving me any chance to catch up. My halifax account is still open just with nothing in now. They said that was one of the reasons I couldn't claim as a hardship case and suggested I claim from my current bank (the one I have just changed to).
