best 32 inch TV

Hi there

i just want a 32 inch (ish) TV - with good picture. we have a good connection and mainly watch TV via Virgin.

If the picture is not great then I'll get in a strop! but I'm confused with the jargon.

is LEd or Plasma best? Any good deals out there?

Thank you!

You can't get 32 in plasma. Smallest is 37 in, so you're looking at LCD. It totally depends on your budget, but if you want to get best quality I would go for Panasonic or Sony. If you want cheaper, LG are quite good. I wouldn't bother with Full HD (1080 res) at that screen size, just get one that's HD Ready (720 res).
Richers Sounds usually have some good deals, especially on outgoing models (that doesn't matter, as they change them every few months anyway). Go and look at a few and let your eyes be the judge.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    This. Few left; move fast.

    Otherwise. And likewise.

    Better. But more expensive.

    Even better. More expensive still.

Mutt's nuts. Indulgence. (But huge saving.)

    Forgive me, macman, but. ;)

you'd now be better off living in one.

I stand humbly corrected. Somehow I just knew someone was going to come up with a 32in plasma...is that the only one on the market?

Oh - and be aware that if you look at these things in Richer Sounds, they *will* try and sell you an LG, or whatever else they have lots of to get rid of, so don't be swayed.

(having said that, I just bought a cheap LG and I think it's awesome for the money...)

They also use a Blu-Ray feed to make it all look HD-super (always pays to look round the back). Just ask them to switch it to live BBC1 and watch them squirm with embarassment...
Having said that, once you know what you want it's a good place to buy in terms of price-assuming they have what you want in stock.

I believe so. But if I say yes, I just know that someone will come up with another one... :D

(Hope you didn't mind: you know I rate you highly. ;) )

I had a quick look round, found a couple, but none that looked overly legit :D

FWIW that LG plasma does come very highly rated too, especially for TV piccies - I tend to play a lot of games, so the IR could have been an issue for me, otherwise I'd have been tempted :)
