He's trying to manipulate you. Don't let him. Seriously, get legal advice on what you are actually entitled to, so that you know whether you are negotiating from a position of strength or not. For him to make an offer like that, he clearly doesn't respect you or the 20-odd years you've spent together, so why should you just roll over and give him what he wants? This is the rest of your future you're talking about, and 15k isnt going to go very far.
I know it's hard, but you need to toughen up and start being a bit more selfish - like he is being.0 -

Thanks smartpicture, I think I just needed someone else to verify that I wasn't being unreasonable/selfish to want more. I love him so much but I'm not going to be a pushover.0 -
