Bank Accounts in 'other' names...

 Hello, Newbie here and apologise if this has been covered but i work for a local Animal Rescue Centre called Castaways... i am the fundraising manager and in the process of going into over drive as animals seem to be getting the brunt of the credit crunch... i am searching for a good bank account which both founders and i can open in our names but call it castaways for fundraising & donations etc, obviously the highest interest we can get but we are not a registered charity so can anyone suggest where i can start... Alliance & Leciester seem a good account but one founder lives in a little village and needs access via postoffice and depending who answers the phone i seem to get different answers!!!!! HELP!!!!

A business account would be the only way you could give the account your rescue centre's name.

It would not have to be a business account. It would however have to be one that permitted non-personal use. Most accounts will have it as part of their T&Cs that it's for personal customers only.

Does your group have a constitution? If so, then you should be able to get a very basic non-personal account in the name of your group at pretty much any bank. Go for one that is in a good location for you & the other account holders, as it's likely to require you to visit a branch to pay in/withdraw. Don't expect anything remotely good with regards to interest rates.

The A&L account only require access to a Post Office for cash transactions - anything else can be done by phone/internet/post

Is this true even when two signatories are required?
