The Barking Dog on Malone (opposite Eg)
I went in Jan based on a review I read online and I wasn't disappointed. Booked in advance for a Saturday night at 8pm. Nice relaxed venue and friendly staff that know their stuff. My good ladyfriend and I were able to sit on until after 11pm and managed to have 3 courses, a bottle of wine and irish coffees for less than £80.
The food is as good as Nick's Warehouse but unlike Nick's, you actually have some elbow room to eat your dinner!!! (I find Nick's is too cluttered and always rammed)
I can't recommend highly enough0 -
dont go to nicks not nice and notting compared to Talbot 27, food is exceptional and the service is excellent have to go but go at lunch time as it is cheaper-cant wait to go again0

Deane's Deli is nice and consistent, if a little pricey. Deane's is very good and very priceyLife in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

Thankfully now there are a large number of good recent restaurants in Belfast across a wide range of varieties and prices.
It really depends on what you are willing to spend - I have the hi-life card which is great as has a good selection of restaurants.
Olio is a personal favourite and I really like the dirty duck (although have to admit that about 2 years ago after their refurbishment had a bad experience, but seems to be back to normal - try their champ!). Hill St Brasserie is good too. I think Ten Square is good as well.

My favourite restaurant in Belfast is Rouge Cafe on the Newtonards Road, it always has fantastic food, and the wine list is the best in Belfast. It's usually our 'special occasion' restaurant.0

I love Villa Italia - food is reasonably priced and good portion sizes.
It is always crazy busy though so if anyone is going, it really is best to book in advance as the queue can get all the way outside!
Am also partial to The Point at Ballyhackamore, I always find their steak is lovely & portion sizes are also good along with reasonable prices.0 -
If anyone is interested in Thai food, there is a gorgeous place called Bo Tree right beside Villa Italia. It is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful wine list and the food is to die for. The service is impeccable too. It also offers cookery lessons on Sunday mornings, with a lunch buffet on Sunday afternoons. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!0

Last time we were at Bo Tree we were not impressed, poor service, waitress had hardly any English, food served on cold plates, just not good overall. Very average for the money. That was a couple of months ago.0
