Have to agree about Nicks Warehouse. Outside Belfast Balloo House is very nice.

If you are willing to travel, the Bronte Steakhouse outside Rathfriland can not be beaten, but you will definitely need to book a few weeks in advance. Here is a link to their site. This would definitely be my favourite restaurant. www.brontesteakhouse.com/

    Enjoy.

I'm not a huge fan of the Bronte steakhouse, but went to Beatrice Kennedy for my mum's birthday recently which was lovely. review here

I can recommend the porterhouse on the Lisburn Rd, it is just beside Shu and does possibly the best steak I have ever tasted. A little on the expensive side but totally worth it.

All the above that are in Belfast are good suggestions. Shu is lovely food but quite posh. Beatrice Kennedy's feels a bit more relaxed but again good food. And Nick's Warehouse is good also, though be sure to book, it is pretty busy.

I would say avoid Cayenne like the plague - had a terrible experience there last time I went.

And I'm not nearly as keen on Deanes as I used to be. The food is still good but the value for money is decidedly shaky :)

Hope you have a good evening.

I can highly recommend Hill Street Brasserie. Fantastic food when we went last month and it didn't break the bank as midweek they were offering 2 courses for £17.50 - well worth every penny. Service was exceptional too.

  • I love the Lebanese place on Amelia Street (across the road from Europa) its called Byblos. Their starters and salads are to die for!! When I asked about their baklava (sp?) I was told they get it sent to them on a weekly basis from Lebanon.
