M4a

Hi Techies...

I want to play my Apple Ipod on my work pc, without installing itunes (I have no cd driver and itunes site is restricted).
When I plug my Ipod in, windows media player can only read approx 26 of the 900 tracks on my ipod.
I, 'explore' my usb hub, click onto 'music' and 'properties' on each thumbnail, some are good to go, but the majority, I have to choose a programme to read them, and they all end M4a. (But still not 900 tracks though).
I tried renaming the M4A to MP3, but it obviously isnt that simple.
Can anyone advise me an easy way to do this, or maybe recomend a good M4A convertion programme.

Thanks. 'bored at work'........!!!

Just save quicktime or iTunes software (downloadable from apple) onto your iPod's hard drive and move it to your PC where you can hopefully get it installed there.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
  • I believe IMToo Convertor does the trick - http://www.imtoo.com/wma-mp3-converter.html - the trial version is free, but you can only convert 5 tracks at a time (then shut it down, re-open it, do another 5 etc.). I use it - only not for my iPod music - but I reckon it'll do the job just fine.

I would also recommend putting SharePod on your iPod (http://sharepod.sturm.net.nz) It's a program that runs from your iPod (no need to install on any PC) and lets you browse your music properly - not with the weird letter and number strings an iPod uses.
