Kitchen doors in mdf painted? stone worktop?

Options
Hi all

I'd like to replace my kitchen doors with MDF, shaker, painted Ivory or Calico.

Anyone know the best company for this? They're not standard sizes (i have an Ikea kitchen - which is very good by the way - but funny sizes).

i see that ikea are doing stone worktops - anyone know anything about stone? was gonna go for granite, but we have a large kitchen and are looking at 4-5k for granite.

Thanks, kitty

Hi Kitty, if you can post up the dimensions of your surface area I can give a rough guide to how much you should pay for granite.

As far as i'm aware Ikea do not sell natural stone worktops.

Even a good sized kitchen you can get worktops for 2500 - it depends on where you buy them from. Any of the high street stores and you are looking at a fortune!

I've found the prices of stone, granite and corian to be really quite similar - it's a matter of choice rather than cost.

Hi, thanks, there are 3 parts (work areas), 1 is about 1m long, 2nd, 1.5, the 3rd, about 4 meters!

Then the price I mentioned is more than achievable. There is no way you should be paying 5000 for granite.

If you take a look at www.diapol.com then they have an automatic quotation thingy that is really very accurate so pop your measurements in there. I've used diapol with great success - I have seen slightly cheaper recently but they are the price you need to beat. No money until they've fitted the granite which I think is quite a guarantee of quality.

    Then you're doing something wrong!!!

I've put in your measurement presuming that they are roughly 600mm wide with 6.5 metres of polished edges and upstands with a sink cut out and it's coming out between 1600-1900 pounds depending on the type of granite I select!

Only you will know the length of polished edges and whether you want drainer grooves but there's not a chance that slightly different variations on what I've put in will make it come out at 8 grand!!

Right, 1m, 1.5m, 4m (take in to account this wil have a joint depending on your layout).

i'll take this on the basis of you choosing black galaxy.

In london, average between 1900 - 2200 + vat. fitted

There's a lot of things thats have to be accounted for to get a more accurate quote.

    Where are you based kitty?
