Caring for solid wood furniture and flooring

Hi guys,
I'm trying to find info on how to look after my nice new solid oak furniture and flooring.
The flooring is a pre laquered american oak and I'd appreciate any advice people can give me on how to maintain it? I know if I need to wipe it, I can use a very mildly damp cloth with just water and nothing else, but what about maintaining the finish?
As for the furniture, I need help trying to find out if my oak furniture has been waxed or oiled. I know that with either I should be treating it with natural beeswax or linseed oil every 3 to 6 months, but how do I tell what its been treated with in the first place? If its been oiled, can I use beeswax now and likewise, if it was waxed originally, can I now oil over the top with no harm done?
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers.
Steve.

I have had a hardwood floor sanded and re-sealed with Bonkemi.
The instruction I got were:
Use a dry "static" mop to collect the dust, etc.
Use a water dampened cloth to clean up spills etc.
Use pure soap only if needed.
DON'T use any commercial floor cleaners, most will damage the finish - Bonkemi do one, but soap is much cheaper !0 -
@steve-o - can the retailer not tell you how its been finished?0

No,
retailer has since shut down with the recent crunch. Im going to guess for beeswax for the furniture and hope for the best.
Will just use plain water on the floor for now till I find something.
