I wonder if anyone can help, I had a problem with Norton at the weekend, resulting in uninstalling it then installing McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006.
Since then don't know what I have done but Control ,Alt, Delete no longer works.
Running Windows XP Pro SP2
Grateful for any help if anyone has experienced this.
Thanks.

There are a few viruses and malware that can stop task manager, but I would expect McAfee to pick them up - if it is being allowed to run. It won't hurt to do a deep scan with your nice shiny new antivirus software.
Check that you have the latest virus definitions at http://vil.nai.com/vil/DATReadme.asp Boot to a command prompt. Go to the directory containing McAfee scan engine, they keep moving it
but try
cd \prog*\comm*\netw*\engi*
for starters. Then runscan /all /sub /program /analyze /unzip /mime /html c:\vscan.htm c:\
Go and have a cup of tea, it won't run quickly. It will create an html file 'c:\vscan.htm' that you can open in IE.
Are you clean?

You could try a system restore:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx
or use this as an alternative temporarily
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html
But suggest you do a scan, to see if you've picked anything up:

Makes me wonder how many p.c's get corrupt after using Norton products.

The McAfee package was actually purchased legit from PC World.
I found out that I had the W32.Spybot.worm affecting C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WINLOG.EXE
Burnt the midnight oil last night and spent last 7 hours downloading and running trial Norton 2006 stuff then the McAfee Internet Suite 2006 tonight to convince myself that I had got rid of Worm, then trying to fix the registry.
My concern was that the Symantec website stated that this worm captures keyboard strokes etc to the likes of bank, ebay, Paypal websites possibly aquiring your logon details.
Thanks to everyone who replied.
Aren't computers great when they work!!0
