Noooooo, its happend again!!!

Hi all,

A few months ago, my beloved daughter spilt a glass of milk over my laptop and an insurance claim followed. The insurance company were very good, and promptly replaced the laptop.

Over the course of the weekend, yes you guessed it.......It's happend again, this time with a fresh cup of coffee and the guilt rests with my sister :( .

How would the insurance company react to this? Am i even able to claim again? and if so what are the consequences? Does anybody have experience of such situations?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

You are paying your premiums and of course can claim for anything covered.

The consequences can be increased premiums next year, and in rare cases the insurer can decide that you are too "accident prone" for them to want you as a customer once the policy expires.

I agree with Quentin, you are entitled to claim for it.

There is a small chance the Insurers may advise you they no longer want you as a customer from renewal or may impose terms on your policy for future claims eg increase your excess or exclude claims for this type of thing again.

Ive claimed more than once for a laptop. They are just so easy to drop!

My insurance company has always paid up straight away without a problem. I guess its up to whichever company you use. They may in future claims put the excess up on the laptop or refuse to cover it at all perhaps?

You can definately claim for the laptop.

However, next year you could find that you could have an increased premiums and the underwriters can impose terms on your policy, such as a higher excess for accidental damage claims (maybe not just against the laptop, but all contents accidental damage), can refuse to offer cover for accidental damage to contents.
