Anti virus for use with AOL

Hello can anyone advise me as to which anti virus I could download - that is compatible with AOL. I initially installed Norton - had loads of problems and I was told by a call centre op. that it's not compatable. So I downloaded McAfee via AOL - but now have found out that AOL no longer have a contract with them. I have tried to renew my details direct - but am not able to complete the links. Can anyone help please?

    Use the MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL
    http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

    Use the Norton removal tool
    http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

***USE THE REMOVAL TOOLS AS BITS ALWAYS GET LEFT BEHIND WITH A NORMAL UNINSTALL***

Download AVIRA ANTI VIRUS PERSONAL (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/
(This is for now whilst we determine whats on your computer)

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

    PS ~ Stop mcafee payments

AVG works fine with AOL, I've been using it for some years and not had any issues with it.
  • Zone alarm has been working fine for me for 3 years now.

I'm with AOL and I've also got McAfee security and I pay that subscription via AOL.

OP: I'm having the same problem. Been on the phone to AOL and McAfee and get as far as the purchasing page and keep getting a variety on reasons why I can't go no further e.g. try alternative card, please fill all manditory boxes...
Have decided to look for another Virus protection provider as I have had it up here with them.

Use Avira as Rik suggested Norton, Mcafee and AVG are not so good.
