Horror Stories

It seems everything you read about the property market in newspapers, online, TV is a horror story with it being an almost impossibility to get a mortgage approval and sellers having their properties on the market for over a year I was wondering if there were many others like us:
We had an offer accepted in late Jan - applied for C&G mortgage with only a 10% deposit - got 5.69% fixed accepted almost instantaneously and could have exchanged + completed in just 5 weeks if we wanted to.
These are the stories we should be hearing about as it will also boost confidence and get this market going again!
Moving in this Friday in a house that 12 months ago would have paid a good 30k more. Before people say you should have waited as it will go down again - it all depends on each person's situation.
