Wouldn't that make their weekday peak rate calls more expensive than even rip-off BT? :eek:Call me Carmine....

No, identical to BT - isn't that remarkable?1carminestocky wrote: »Wouldn't that make their weekday peak rate calls more expensive than even rip-off BT? :eek:Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. First they start charging for broadband, and now for some customer service calls , and they still charge a arm and a leg for 0845/0870 calls ,and no sign of them being included in inclusive minutes. Must be feeling the pinch.0

Their core market would surely be classed as a non-essential product in these recessionary times so I wouldn't be surprised if they are feeling the pinch. Even we are considering packing them in (and we have 2 Sky+s!) and opting for recordable freeview boxes.Call me Carmine....

Yes just to get SkyTalk you have to pay a minimum of £198 a year for Sky TV before you pay for line rental and calls.0 -

Surely no-one would follow that route just to get Sky Talk though?
The way I see it is that Sky Talk and Sky Broadband is a cheaper optional benefit of being a Sky TV customer.
If I wasn't a Sky TV customer, I wouldn't consider getting Sky TV just to get Sky Talk and/or Sky Broadband!0 -

To be honest, that's hardly a USP, is it? Who's line rental isn't cheaper than BT?Call me Carmine....

Using that argument the price of chargeable calls to 0845/0870 should be the same then, but their not by a long chalk.
Also BT dont charge to call customer service.;)0
