Thanks Pigpen for the lists, I'm in! Not sure how I'll do this week, as have a really hectic week, but will do my best. Had people round today and Friday, and it's taking less and less time to do a quick tidy round before they arrive, as opposed to before I joined here when it was taking 4 hours to get the place in a fit state to be seen! Thanks so much!
Soappie, I'm glad your friend is standing up to her children. A family I know bailed their daughter in her late 20's out of debt, and they ended up losing their home. As the mum is severely disabled and the house was converted to her needs, and the dad hasn't worked for years but is her carer and the only income they have is benefits, it seemed really unfair to me that they should have been homeless for six months and then rehoused by the council in a grotty place you wouldn't let your dog live in. They are having to start again with making it suitable for her needs. It makes my blood boil just thinking about it, and I'm glad their daughter lives in Spain as I don't think I could control my tongue if I saw her! Sometimes love is shown in the wrong way - it's sometimes more loving in the long run to say no and make people realise the consequences of what they have done as it will make them think before doing it again!
Greenbee - I really like Ruth 1:16, 17 altho it might be too short? Not sure how long you need it to be? It's about the love and friendship between two women (MIL and DIL) but applies to anykind of love IMHO.
16 And Ruth proceeded to say: “Do not plead with me to abandon you, to turn back from accompanying you; for where you go I shall go, and where you spend the night I shall spend the night. Your people will be my people, and your God my God. 17 Where you die I shall die, and there is where I shall be buried. May Jehovah do so to me and add to it if anything but death should make a separation between me and you.”
Ecclesiastes that someone else suggested (sorry forgot who) is a good one, and 1 Cor 13:4-8: 4 Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails

Hi,
I'm in.
Thanks Pigpen.
Toots i hope you're ok.
I got a bit sidetracked earlier. Ds1 came back before i had time to do the bedrooms so we spent most of the afternoon in the garden. I cleaned out my food waste bin:eek: and tidied up the bit by the back door. I even swept it and hosed it down. Then we went to OH's for tea, when we came back i stripped and remade all the beds whilst OH was bathing DS2. I have also done 2 hours of ironing:eek: . I'm now supposed to be doing my NVQ work but i'm skiving off on here instead.
