Unfortunately, in the past 8 months, we have had 4 burglaries in homes on our street and the latest happened on Friday between 12 and 2pm. We are thinking about installing an alarm that is connected to the phone line so that the house is more secure when we are not home.
Can anyone reccommend the most cost effective way to do this? We have looked at 'home monitor' which is a service provided by Southern Electric. Does anyone have any other ideas?

just make your home less appealing than a neighbours, prickly bushes, net curtains, radio on, dummy alarm box, lights, good doors, they will go for the easy option0
