I have the same problem, the sounds dies every now and again. I have an onboard AC97 sound card. What i do is install the drivers from the motherboard cd rom and this brings them back to life.0

Mr C and sheena4711 what motherboards do you have? Or what make/model p.c;s do you have?
You shouldnt have to keep installing the drivers to keep it working0 -
i have a mesh pc, works well apart from that, i don't mind having to istall the driver every now and again, at least i know how to fix the problem.0

Did not bother messing around with the pc last night but will have another try tonight, thanks for the helps so far.
If all else fails will a cheap sound card do the trick ?
T4I, the pc is a tiny system, just over a year old. Sorry don't have any more info.0 -
Looks like the Tiny and Mesh computer in question use the same motherboard (same onboard sound)
Most likely the same problem, but without the chipset or motherboard model its a lost battle.0
