I might have my eyebrows waxed, if it hurts less

Im such a wuss haha. Even though i have tattoo's and piercings i cant handle pain :rotfl:

At a college near me they do it cheap, do you think i should get it done by students or go to a professional?

It wont be for my wedding, not getting married for another 15months, but i want to be able to build up some pain threshold haha

I have it done, it hurts less than waxing - it is more an irritation than pain, it makes me sneeze!! It does take longer than waxing, but only a few minutes. I think I heard that threading is better for the skin underneath as it just pulls the hair rather than the skin as well (might be wrong there but it made sense to me).
Evansangel - I would be tempted to go to a professional for the first time to be confident they knew what they were doing with the shape. However, don't assume because someone charges £10 at a beauty counter they know what they are doing a mistake I have learnt from - I pay about £2 to the lady I go to now, she does it in her own home and it is perfect every time!
  • dont get it done in publid..i saw a woman in selfridges last year having it done she was sat there and her eyebrows were red raw and she had tears rolling down the side of her face, add the reddness of embarresment to it and she looked like a belisha beacon, you all must be masochists to have that done:D

i wince at the thought of having mine waxed

I was told by my beauty therapist that threading can cause damage to the hair follicle meaning that the hair will grow inwards:eek:

Waxing every time for me - its not that painful and its quick.

i don't really get what the difference is between threading, tweezing and waxing ... they all take the hair out in it's entirety including the root (ie unlike shaving, but then who would shave their eyebrows...)... i don't see how any one would be more likely to cause ingrown hairs...
i like to tweeze! but i find there's less and less to tweeze after 12 years of plucking, think i have plucked the relevant hairs into submission and they only produce little white hairs now! hooray!
