M and S shoes.

I bought a pair of shoes from M and S last March and have worn them at most 2 or 3 times a week and yet there's now a large hole through each sole. Should I take them back and complain?

Comments

  • I've been buying M&S shoes for decades and this has never happened to any of them, I would definitely take them back as both shoes have worn in the same place.
I doubt you'll have any problems unless you weigh 25 stones or walked 25 miles in them each time youve worn them :rotfl:

Thanks for that, no I'm not (yet!) 25 stones, nor do I run marathons in these shoes............I don't DO stairs either!
Yes, the holes are in the same area on each shoe so I'll dig out the receipt and see what happens.

    Is this a joke?!

If you bought them last March then wearing them twice a week will be 100 wears, 3 times a week will be 150 wears. (As March is just approaching)

That's pretty good going and nothing to warrant a refund IMHO.
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • I have M&S shoes in my shoe museum that have certainly been worn several hundred times during the time I've had them with no holes in the soles. Including a pair of flat black leather winter boots that I've had for 25 years which have gone out of fashion and come back in again several times. Must buy them a birthday present. :D

Mocha, have you had them reheeled - heels usually go a good long time before soles do and should give you some indication of whether the soles were up to the job or not.

Spot on - people like this make it difficult for those of us with genuine consumer problems - mens leather soles last hardly any time at all - we just have to fork out the money to get them re-soled!

Personally mocha i think youve got a cheek-they are fashion shoes after all!however it may well be that m&s will give you an exchange, the question i would ask you is why you didnt return them when the first hole appeared.
