Ikea kitchen, standard appliances

Hi all,

Lots of interesting posts about ikea kitchens. . . I cant find an answer to my little problem- i dont want to buy ikea integrated appliances for my ikea kitchen. How difficult is it to buy standard and then fit the doors yourself?

Thanks

    Hi Babymum,
We bought the ulriksdal kitchen and have a built in microwave, double oven and dishwasher all bought from Boots. The dishwasher was easy, the microwave and oven were trickier but only because we had to buy different doors to the ones shown with the cupboard, for example the oven cupboard was supposed to be 2 doors and we ended up with 2 doors and a drawer. Not a problem because all components are seperate. our dishwasher is hotpoint, oven is zanussi and microwave is baumatic.

  • eeek! I have just bought an Ikea kitchen, but am also buying the appliances elsewhere. It didn't occur to me there might be problems fitting different brands!

Oh well too late now if there are any problems, but it should be ok, integrated fridge and freezer (under counter) should be fine as it's just a door to cover the fronts, but I suppose the oven might be a different size...I'll see how I get on!
