Hi Ness
Glad you got soughted. Can't help with the kennel tho lol.
Cannot belive how easy it was to get the concert tickets. Don't
know if we are looking forward to the concert or Barcelona more.
Just cannot wait :j0 -
It's an incredible city, I hope you have a wonderful time. I always do and I have been a lot (Spainaholic!). I'm going back in September to see Coldplay (despite the fact that they're playing in Manchester where I live...lol).
Definitely check out the Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell for some beautiful Gaudi work, take a ramble down the Ramblas and stop for snacks in the Boqueria. Sit on the beach with a beer and a sandwich and watch the Catalonians chill.
If you have time, take a day trip to Montserrat - it's about an hour on the train but is well worth it, you'll never see anything like it again.
Don't bother with a Barcelona tourist bus, the metro is very cheap and goes everywhere you'll need to go.
ENJOY!

Just off la ramblas facing the Columbus Column is a lovely bar a truly magical experience near the wax works think its calles la fosca0

El corte ingles at the top of the ramblas has a open air rooftop cafe, great for a snack and the view.0

las ramblas is dodgy!
hookers and pick pockets galore, well in the evening anyway....
its very commercial and designed for the tourist, so prices for everything like food and drinks are expensive.
I would not advise staying around there, alot of the backstreets are dodgy and the area looks run down.
Stay by the avigunda paralell (not sure on spelling sorry!) which runs paralell to las ramblas, but is ALOT safer and doesnt have such higher prices for food and drinks etc (we stayed in the apsis milleni 4*, great hotel and was cheap....)
if your going out, take a taxi down to "port olyimpico" for all the bars and clubs (catwalk is a great club!) but again just be careful of the pick-pockets, they work it teams and are all over barcelona.... I wouldnt bother going out by las ramblas its rubbish, commercial and a rip off!!
brilliant city, you will love it!0
