Bulb in oven gone off

Hi
Hope this is in the right place.
I have a gas cooker which is powered by electric, I went to turn the cooker on and the electric went off. I've changed the fuse in the plug and it's working again now. Have just noticed thou that whilst the oven is now on and warm the light isn't on.
I am assuming that it was the bulb that had blown initially - is it OK to use the oven whilst the light doesn't work? I always thought it was just for cosmetic/being able to see what your cooking purposes.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like the bulb blowing blew the fuse. If it is gas then it should be fine. Just might need a torch to see what is going on!0

Do just check that all is cooked ok - just in case! But I am sure that you will be fine.
If you can, quickly check that the thermostat is working fine - turn down the temperature and see the gas back off. If that is all ok then it will be fine.
Enjoy dinner!0 -

That's quite amusing, a gas oven that is powered by electric. Luckily we know what you mean. But you are quite right, the light is only so that you can see what's going on. Probably no more than a small screw to undo to replace the lamp.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Mines the same - if the electricity is off the gas oven won't work because the igniter won't function. My gas hob, on the other hand, has a battery ignition switch.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
