With some accounts, it doesn't matter where the money comes from. So you could have your £900 pension going in, then just transfer £100 of that out and straight back in again to make it £1000. This would work to get you £5/month after tax for the Halifax Reward account, and probably others as well.
  • Yes cashing £100 at an ATM then paying it straight back in would work.

Hey Old Git (If only I could say that to "real" people)

Don't know if it's still on but I thought Alliance and Leicester only required 500 pounds funding and gave you £100 switching incentive

    Yes it's still available - http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk/current-accounts/premier-100-switching.aspx?ct=p2rfshomepageswitching

Quidco are also offering cashback on certain A&L current accounts.

Yes - but then you're stuck banking with A&L ! Errors, unintelligible overseas call centres, fraud...... Stay clear!
