Ways to save money at work

it's not claiming expenses, it's taking the cashback offered and pocketing it when the company money is used to buy company supplies.
I'd love to be able to do it!

Is the boss the owner of the company?
Do you share your gains or is it all personal gain
Yes the boss is the owner of the company.
Its not all for personal gain at all as said in the above post through ordering stock we get lots of free clothes which all go straight to the other staff.
and the amounts in question are very low ie we spend about £200 on stationary a month so we are only taliking £14 and we use the high street stores alot to .0 -
The only thing I think I'd be concerned about was if, in the unlikely event that HMRC found out - then you may be liable for tax as it might be considered a benefit in kind.

Gee a lighthearted dicussion forum just turned into one of Martin's Moral Dilemmas!!
Personally if your boss has no problem with your actions, carry on! It's up to them at the end of the day and if you didn't use Quidco he would still pay the same price.
To get back to your original point I save money at work by eating there (it's a cafe). My boss has no problem with me having breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner there! Definitely saves me money if I'm working all day. I can also read the cafe's newspapers so I don't have to buy them
If I need to I can charge my phone at work and when it isn't busy I whip out the laptop and type a few reviews for dooyoo0 -
i buy fruit etc for works use and other stuff from tesco and get clubcard points.
Recycle works cartridges etc that they would throw away for points
charge my phone at work
eat cereal and use there milk always have a cuppa when i arrive and just before i leave...:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

I can understand about sharing tins of biscuits etc. even getting clubcard pionts if you have to go shopping for the company but when it comes down to hard cash, sorry but i believe there is a difference.
Actualy in post 13 you suddenly started to say we a few times. So where did the £14 out of £200 go.
why not put this is a kitty and share it out at Christmas or something.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
We was meaning the company,
Ive never thought of putting it in to a kitty as its something i thought in a way was a small reward for spending sometimes my own time at lunchtimes when not going out searching for the cheapest practical items for the company and im sure if the boss / owner had any problems with it he wouldnt allow it.
I started this thread to give people ideas etc as there may be company owners on here right now and they could of saved for themselves or there company.
I now feel as though i shouldnt of said anything so im sorry if i have offended anyone as it wasnt intended.0 -
I am glad you said something and started the thread.
I don't think it is right to gain actual cash (quidco etc) from work UNLESS they know about it then it is far gain.
I think clubcard points etc are just a perk it takes my time patients and sometimes petrol so i deserve the perk
Ink cartridges- Tesco recycle them and there are a lot of charities you can send them to.. not sure of the details maybe google it:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

I use the company's Makro card for my own use. I use my own petrol and time to go there so I don't consider it's cheating work out of any money.0
