    So thats not patronising then?
but banks charging £15 for going 2p overdrawn is fine, thats not damaging at all

The two are unrelated in context.

They also need to stop thinking they're owed compensation for every minute complaint. It's more damaging than people realize it is.

    Damaging to whom?

If I am out of pocket as a result of your firm's !!!! up why should I not be compensated for the time I have to waste in complaining?

Why should I have to follow your procedure to have your mistake corrected?

Why should you not follow MY procedure when you are at fault?

I am paying, directly or indirectly, for the service you provide and am entitled to expect it to be competent.

Why should I not be told who was at fault and what action has been taken to reduce the chance of the same mistake being made again?

Why should fair and reasonable compensation not be deducted from the errant staff member's personal bonus?

If you had ever run a one man business you would have more concept of the direct and real cost of your errors and the lengths needed to regain the confidence of an unhappy customer.

Ignore him. He's just trying to wind people up.

If I were Barclays, I'd be concerned at someone discrediting their name on a public forum.

My council tax was taken out before a bank holiday weekend and I went into the red for 3 days!! On principal I sent a letter outlining the costs incurred, I believe it was in the region of 8 pence plus stationary costs plus postage. At the time they had to deliver the shiny 50 pence piece by hand and as I was out a couple of times when they finally delivered it I could see the bloke wasn't too pleased he must of wasted a few hours and spent more in petrol that the debt that was owed. Strangely Surrey Heath Borough Council has not repeated the same error again!!

It's npower. They did it exactly to me as well - took the money on the 9th when it's supposed to be the 10th though I had enough money in my account to cover that. I did not incur any bank charges but I reckoned I had lost the grand sum of £0.002 in credit interest - just not worth pursuing!

It depends what day that date fall on.If a weekend they do take the money early.I had it happen to me.After being explained I have no problem with this.
