A special 65th birthday present

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right board to be posting on but I wanted some assistance as I have asked for my partners advice but he is pretty much useless!

It is my mum's 65th birthday in 3 weeks time and as it is quite a milestone birthday I wanted to get her something special. I was thinking of getting her and my dad tickets to go and see Cliff Richard in concert as she really likes him, but I think I have left it too late and I will find it really difficult to get tickets now.

So I have around £125 - £150 to get her something with and I am lost for ideas. Any suggestions on things I could get?

Thanks :)

hi ww, what does she enjoy?

i got my mum a gorgeous garden statue and plinth, you could get something with a real WOW factor for the value you are suggesting.

alternatively, it was my friends 60th last month, and i treated us both to a makeover day, haircut and consultation, makeover and advice, and a photoshoot with free 7x5 pic. it cost £45 but it was so worth it, we really enjoyed ourselves, and a cut at the same salon is normally £35 on its own, so good value for money. it took 4/5 hours. we're normally the outdoorsy type, but felt really welcome and comfy there. it was from www.prezziebox.com, but you can "buy it now" on ebay as well. burlington new id.

    xx

    Hi,

Thanks for the ideas they sound really good, although probably not something my mum would enjoy, she is a little difficult to buy for!

Saying that though I did manage to get the tickets that I wanted origionally, after calling the venue itself and being told that it is highly unlikely they would have any tickets left as people were queueing up for 4 days () just for the tickets the lady on the phone checked anyway and found exactly 2 tickets left over which are some of the best seats they have which somehow had been overlooked and not sold. So I managed to get those :T :T :T Just hoping my mum will like the pressie now :)

    Thanks again for the suggestions

I'm unsure of what this would cost & depending on where your parents live, why not treat your parents to something like a night in a country inn with a lovely meal or a city break with theatre trip.

Sorry to hear about your husband but I'm sure he'd be really pleased and happy that you've been able to carry on the idea and enjoy yourself, well done. :T :T :T
