Travel Insurance with Type 2 Diabetes

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes late last year, so not travelled since I was diagnosed, I assume I have to declare it as an existing medical condition but anyone know of any firms specialise in this type of insurance or how much extra this will cost.

Most of the main stream Insurers will offer cover, they will normally ask you to declare the medical condition by ringing them or their website.

A lot of Insurers will require you to have one set of medication in your hand luggage and one set in your hold luggage in case you lose one set. (If they do not its sensible to do this anyway).

If you have problems getting cover go to the Diabetes UK Website as they will almost certainly have an Insurer they have a scheme with who is sympathetic to Diabetics. (There is probably some helpful travel advice for diabetics which would be wise for you to read).
