changing supplier

i know this may seem like a really stupid question, so please dont shout at me!!
but how do i go about changing my gas and electricity supplier?
what do i need and where do i go to do it?

Do a price comparison etc. and then approach a new energy company and they will do all the work in switching suppliers.

They will contact your old company, you will supply meter readings etc @ the right time.

You will probably be contacted by your old company to double check you weren't miss sold, why you are leaving and may even persuade you to stay!
