When I had an accident a few years ago the nice traffic cop reached in to the car took the tax disc off and gave it to me saying you need to get the outstanding amount back as its yours. He also said don't leave it on the vehicle when its being recovered as he'd seen them disappear on to a non-taxed vehicle before!

Tax discs are non-transferable to other vehicles.

Headoutofsand cheers for reply - my date is 7th May at Nottingham !!!!y Court - 0830...Aint it funny when stroppy divvies call you up, get all self righteuos about responsability and debt (bl@@dy cheek coming from any banker that is - my fave reply to 'why haven't you paid your account? - Credit crunch mate) and they have that compulsory rant and rave about how immoral you are blah, blah, blah...

I look forward to several points in these conversations;

1. "if you don't pay now then it may impact upon your ability to get credit as we will have to record it with credit reference agency" - my response is "so, your telling me that when I didn't pay the last 3 payments you did not default me on the credit agencies"? I like to give 'em enough rope

2. When I tell them I have a BR court date, I know I don't need to, and it's not out of some misplaced honour, I like it when the attitude changes - they either offer to reduce your repayments, stop interest and perhaps come to an arrangement over the amount you owe (last one is very rare) and I like to counter with "pity you said no to all of these requests 6 months ago and banged on a massive amount in missed payment charges and interest or we wouldn't be having this conversation, not bothered mate, still off for a BR"

Or they go mental like the muppet above, if they get mad enough and start giving it some wellie I like to chuck in the "ohhh, soz mate, forgot to tell you this conversation is being recorded and I'll be using it in my grievance process against your company when I contact the OFT/FSA" now, that is like giving a bit of amphet to Taz (the cartoon devil thing)

Anyway, I've had 6 months of solid phone calls, lies, threats, opinions and judgements from staff, despite numerous letters threatening legal action they don't care - HSBC called to tell me they got the letter and they would still be calling - cheeky gits. so I feel that if they can threaten us punters then we can wind their staff up, only fair - call centre manager baiting - could be banned like they did with badgers...

I like to be obtrusive and, if I'm feeling cheeky, a little divvy - get them to explain a load of things to you, very slowly, then tell them you need to go for a poo and they can hold or call back (I find about 40 - 45 minutes of some one talking to you like you are rainman and you !!!!!!ing off doesn't half wind them up and remember - THEY CALLED YOU ON YOUR MOBILE!!! Result) this is petty but, hey, I'm not outside MBNA with a sniper rifle and it cheers me up in these day's of financial gloom and doom...

Hi Vespa

I'm sorry I've got no useful advice, I just wanted to say 'I like your style!'. Esp the offer to supply them with a copy of the 'phone conversation for £25 and telling them they had failed the security checks! Love it!

Good luck anyway, let us know how you get on. :)
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:

:j Well, you know what they say - if you don't laugh you'll be on the rooftop opposit HSBOS with a sniper rifle.... I was worried until I started researching the in's and out's of this carry on - I have no house, no car, no boats, burger all in the bank, only 1 secured loan and that was on a HP car that is not only cream crackered but due to be returned voluntarilly - if I get my BR I am totally debt free (except my student loan) for the first time in many moons - I lose nothing except a bit of pride and £25,000 of debt - well worth the swap I say and, after the grief and hassle that the call centres have put me through over the last 6 months - they deserve it

Viva la revolution ... :eek:

My court date is in May because there is a 6 week wait for appointments, apparently they are doing about 60 BR's a week (the woman said) so I suspect the OR might be a wee bit busy... I hope I get him on a good day.. lol

There was a time when I said that the bank would never repossess my house without a fight and I had planned to sniper the bailiffs with paintballs...

I sold it before that could happen.

I had my car repossessed and it didn't have tax disc or MOT.
